Machine availability measures what percentage of planned production time a machine was actually able to run — one component of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

How the calculation works

Availability = (Run time ÷ Planned production time) × 100.

Example

420 minutes run time out of 480 planned: (420÷480)×100 = 87.5%.
