How to calculate performance rate

Performance rate compares actual production rate to the ideal (theoretical maximum) production rate — one of the three components of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

How the calculation works

Performance rate = (Actual production rate ÷ Ideal production rate) × 100.

Example

280 units/hour actual against an ideal rate of 320 units/hour: (280÷320)×100 = 87.5%.
