How to calculate weighted average

This calculator finds a weighted average of two values, each with its own weight — giving values with larger weights more influence on the final result than a simple unweighted average would.

How the calculation works

Weighted average = (Value 1 × Weight 1 + Value 2 × Weight 2) ÷ (Weight 1 + Weight 2).

Example

A value of 80 with weight 3, and a value of 90 with weight 1: (80×3+90×1)÷(3+1) = (240+90)÷4 = 330÷4 = 82.5.
